Insert an Image into a Custom View MiniBase

Here's how you insert an image into a Custom View MiniBase.

  1. In Site Manager, navigate to the workspace containing the page with the MiniBase App you wish to edit.
  2. Click the Tools tab. The list of available Tools displays.
  3. Select Files & Folders from the of Tools. The Files & Folders window displays.
  4. Create a new subfolder named minibaseimages (do not include a space in the folder name).
  5. After you size your images, upload the images you wish to display in your records into the minibaseimages folder.
  6. Click More to the right of one of the images and select Get Link from the drop-down list.
  7. Copy the Full Web Address of the image and click Close.
  8. In Site Manager, navigate to Summary tab of the workspace containing the MiniBase App.
  9. Click Actions to the right of the page containing the app and select Edit Page from the drop-down list. The page opens in Edit Mode.
  10. Click on the MiniBase App. The app opens.
  11. Click Options in the top right corner of the app workspace. The General tab of the app options window displays.
  12. Click the Custom View tab.
  13. Expand the Schoolwires Editor under Details.
  14. Click the Insert MiniBase Field icon to see which field "Image" is associated with.
  15. Click on HTML underneath the Schoolwires Editor.
  16. Enter the following code: <img src="pastethefullimageurlhere">
  17. Remove pastethefullimageurlhere and paste the Full Web Addressfrom Files & Folders.
    • For example, it should look something like this: <img src="http://swtrain6.schoolwires.com/987867687/MiniBaseImages/MrSmith.jpg">
  18. Remove the file name and replace it with $FIELD(whatever Field Number you determined in Step 14).
    • For example, if Images is Field 3, then it should look like this: <img src="http://swtrain6.schoolwires.com/987867687/MiniBaseImages/$FIELD3">
  19. Click Normal underneath the Schoolwires Editor.
  20. Click Save. The Custom View is updated and you are returned to the workspace.

Note: Make sure you have an Images field in your MiniBase Configuration.

Note: When adding or editing a record, enter the exact file name in the Images field (i.e., MrSmith.jpg, HSAuditorium.jpg).

Tip: You can also navigate to the Tools tab of the appropriate workspace, select MiniBase from the list, and edit the MiniBase App from the App Manager.
